Guides and Awards

As we do each year Tenuta Santa Caterina sent its wines to the best oenological guides during the months of May and June. Careful and qualified tasting panels, made up of influential Italian wine journalists and sommeliers, blind taste the wines, assessing their merits and qualities. We have received some of the results, and with great excitement we want to share them with you. Splendid results for the latest creation of the winery: our Historical Grignolino M2012, in general received excellent reviews and in particular a very high score of 95/100 in the “Essential Guide to the Wines of Italy 2019 of DoctorWine”, aka Daniele Cernilli. This makes us particularly proud given the important work we are doing both in the countryside and in the cellar to enhance Grignolino, the vine par excellence of Monferrato. In addition Freisa, another grape variety in which we believe a lot, has received favourable opinions in several guides: Sorì di Giul vintage 2014, in addition to the 93/100 scored by DoctorWine, has for the second year confirmed the 5 Bunches of the Bibenda 2019 Guide and it is again among the Best Wines of Italy according to the judgment of Luca Maroni. Excellent results also for our Grignolino Arlandino 2016 that, thanks to the red medal at the Wine Hunter Awards, has allowed us to enter into the selection of the wineries that will participate in the Merano Wine Festival. We are awaiting more results and we will update you soon!
