On Wednesday, March 14th, from 5 p.m. at “Rita Levi Montalcini” University of Asti, the national preview of the Monferace project will be held. Monferace is an association created by a group of winemakers of Monferrato, between Asti and Casale Monferrato. The common aim is to rediscover the ancient vine of this territory: the Grignolino. The title of the presentation is “Grignolino: the future of the past” that contains, in fact, some of the main objectives of the Association. From tradition to the future, passing through Monferrato and its terroir, during the presentation some characters will alternated: there will be Dr. Giusy Mainardi, university professor, the oenologist Mario Ronco, and Guido Carlo Alleva, president of the Monferace Association. From 6.30 p.m., an “emotional” tasting will start, led by sommeliers of AIS: “The Grignolino and the time”, a vertical tasting of different Grignolino produced by the eleven members of the Association. There will be Grignolino of different vintages, from 2016 until 2010. Following, at 8.30 p.m., at the restaurant Angolo del Beato in Asti, there will be a dinner with the producers of Monferace, organized by the Association Barbera&Barbere.
