Bottles Package
A selection with great ageing potential and very limited production quantities. The grapes were harvested in small vineyard plots, leading to exceptional wines produced with the intent of expressing the unique Monferrato area. Our Silente delle Marne, a varietal Chardonnay that matures for nine months in French oak and undergoes bottle ageing for a few years, depicts how this international grape variety unfolds in our Piedmont territory. You will also find our Barbera d'Asti Superiore Setecapità and finally the Nebbiolo Navlè, whose grapes derive from one single vineyard. The latter matures in wood for 30 months, followed then by 30 months of bottle ageing. The Navlè label represents the geometric rhombus shape of its single vineyard and is about to become an icon.
The package includes bottles in 0,75 L format of the following wines:
SETECAPITA, Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG
SILENTE DELLE MARNE, Monferrato Bianco DOC
NAVLÈ, Monferrato Rosso DOC
Setecàpita / Grape Variety Barbera 100%. Vineyard location 350 metres a.s.l. with South facing. Density per hectare from 4,500 to 5,000 plants/hectare. Training system Cordon de Royat. Harvesting by hand, starting from the fourth week of September. Grape production per hectare 50/60 quintals/hectare. Fermentation temperature about 28-30° C, at a controlled temperature.
Silente delle Marne / Grape Variety Chardonnay 100%. Vineyard location 300 metres a.s.l. with South-West facing. Density per hectare from 4,500 to 5,000 plants/hectare. Training system Guyot. Harvesting by hand, starting from the first days of September. Grape production per hectare 80 quintals/hectare. Fermentation temperature about 18-20° C, 100% fermented in French oak barrels (225 litres).
Navlè / Grape variety 100% Nebbiolo. Vineyard location 320 metres a.s.l. with South/South-East facing. Density per hectare from 4,500 to 5,000 plants/hectare. Training system Guyot. Harvesting by hand, starting in October. Grape production per hectare 60 quintals/hectare. Fermentation temperature about 28-30° C, at a controlled temperature.
Setecàpita / Ageing in French oak tonneaux for 20 months and then in bottle for a period of not less than 8 months
Silente delle Marne / Ageing about 9 months in barriques on its fermentation lees, with periodic batonnage carried out by hand in the first months after the end of fermentation
Navlè / Ageing in French and Slavonian oak barrels for about 30-36 months and additional 30-36 months in bottle
Service temperature: Monferace 16-18°C / Silente delle Marne 8-10°C / Navlè 20°C
